Frequently asked questions

How does check-in work?

Self check-in from 15:00 with a door code we send a few days before arrival, together with directions and a short local guide. No reception, no waiting. Check-out is before 11:00 — leave the key inside and close the door.

Is the cabin warm in winter?

Yes. The cabin has heating and a wood stove, and firewood is stacked by the door. It is open — and warm — all year. Winter on the plateau is one of the best times to be here.

Can I bring my dog?

One calm dog is welcome. Tell us when you book, and keep it on a lead on the fjell — we share the landscape with wildlife and grazing animals.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation until 14 days before arrival. After that, we charge the first night. The price you see is the price you pay — no fees at checkout.

Meet your host

The landowner family at Gautefall has lived with this plateau for generations — they know where the trails go, when the heather blooms and which lake is warmest in August. The cabin stands on their land, placed together with us so it borrows the view without disturbing it.
